The Business of Mattering: How to Find Meaning in Work in Contributing Your Talents
Registration: Register by noon, January 9, for a meal
Guest Speaker: Dr. Alise Cortez, Chief Ignition Officer at Gusto, Now!
Program Description:
Most people don’t want to go to work on Monday morning, or whenever the shift starts. There are numerous contributing factors to this lack of interest or motivation to engage with one’s work. Chief among them is a lack of perceived meaning in the work – like it doesn’t really matter. Another is not feeling like you belong in the organization. Other people report feeling uninspired by the mission or purpose of their employer.
People ache to know their lives matter, that their contributions are appreciated, and that they are spending their precious lives in accordance with their values. And yet, this kind of fulfilling experience at work eludes many people. But it doesn’t have to. Learn how you can access vitalizing meaning in your own work while also helping those you work with do the same. Mattering is vital for individual wellbeing and critical for organizational success.
