Topic: Dynamics of Domestic Violence in the Workplace

Program Description: 

This presentation covers the dynamics of domestic violence and how to help a coworker in an unsafe situation. It will teach you how to prevent violence in the workplace as well as how to handle it when it happens. 

Learning Objectives:

• Learn local resources for domestic violence and sexual assault.
• Understand the dynamics of domestic violence.
• Learn what you can do to help someone in the workplace experiencing domestic violence. 

Speaker Biography: 

Mackenzie Splawn graduated from Rider High School and currently attends Vernon College in hopes of eventually obtaining her master's in counseling. She started working for First Step when she was 17 and she has since worked her way up to Outreach Manager. She currently serves as Board Chair on the Texas Council for Family Violence Youth Board. Mackenzie is extremely passionate about bringing awareness to the community and assisting those experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault.
