Matt Jones has gone from being a 3-time cancer conqueror, to surviving a bone marrow transplant, to relearning how to walk, to completing 7 Marathons on 7 Continents, and yes that includes Antarctica! Currently, he is training for his next "Marathon" which is to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Matt is a world class professional speaker and author. He is committed to inspiring audiences and delivering strategies to help organization thrive in the midst of adversity and excel to new heights of performance. He holds as BA in Communication, MLS in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership, and is pursuing his doctorate in Organizational Leadership.

Matt strives to be a thought leader who offers solutions to the problems individuals and organizations face. His mission is to help flame the fire within individuals and organizations to develop a "Marathon Mentality" in order to reach their full potential by overcoming challenges, improving daily, and striving to attain greater goal attainment as well as life fulfillment.

Jason’s career spans the utility, manufacturing and transportation segments. He has held leadership roles encompassing marketing, sales operations, quality and human resources. He currently serves as the VP of Talent and Growth Initiatives for ArcBest, a multi-faceted logistics organization who solves some of their customers most complex logistics challenges. 

Jason leads learning and growth initiatives for over 13,000 ArcBest employees across 250 locations. In his free time, his wife Leanne and their 5 children enjoy spending time outdoors. Jason has fond memories of the 10 years he spent in the great city of Wichita Falls working with the Albert Companies!

Ross Carmichael

Director of Compliance and Operations at Higginbotham

"Healthcare Compliance"

Ross Carmichael graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a bachelor’s degree in history. He played professional basketball in Europe before returning to Texas and attending Texas A&M University School of Law.

In 2008, Carmichael became an investigator with the Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration, leading its Dallas Regional Oil & Gas Project and its HIPAA and Affordable Care Act Compliance Project. In his time at the DOL, Carmichael received the Secretary of Labor’s Exceptional Achievement Award for his work on the Health Disclosure and Claims Issues Project.

In his capacity as Director of Employee Benefit Operations for Higginbotham, Ross is responsible for ensuring employee benefit compliance for over 4000 employer groups and overseeing Higginbotham’s Day Two Services™. Since joining Higginbotham, Carmichael has presented before hundreds of employers and participated in numerous panels for various business organizations throughout Texas. He has been interviewed by CBS News and the New York Times, and he also helps represent Higginbotham on the National Association of Health Underwriter’s Principal Council.
