Topic: The HR Professional's Guide to Workplace Conflict
 
Program Description: Conflict is a normal part of the workplace environment. Whether that conflict is a drag on productivity or a catalyst for innovation and creativity depends to some degree upon organizational culture, leadership and HR policies and practices. This presentation focuses on how HR professionals can influence the outcome of conflict in their organizations.

 

Learning Objectives: 

* Understand the nature of conflict and its importance in the workplace

* Understand the impact of culture and leadership on the management of conflict

* Review the role of various HR programs and practices on the effective management of conflict in the organization

 Speaker Biography:  Penny Miller, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CEBS, was a career military officer in the United States Air Force. Since her "retirement" from the military, Penny has worked in executive search, corporate HR and for the past 8 years, as an HR consultant with her own company, Venture HRO, LLC. Penny has a Masters Degree in Management and is an adjunct professor, teaching management and HR courses for Midwestern State University and Wayland Baptist University. Penny has over 35 years’ experience in Human Resources. In her current role, she provides HR consulting, training, leadership coaching and mediation services to organizations of all sizes.
