Guest Speaker: Chris Antone
Topic:  Maintaining Union-Free Status in a Hostile Legal Environment

Program Description:
Unfortunately, one of the most contentious Texas labor union organizing drives in 2015 took place right here in Wichita Falls. If you wish to learn how to avoid a drive at your company, please join us and you will learn:

  • Potential Vulnerabilities In Your Company that May Cause Union Organizing;

  • Your Legal Rights To Educate Your Employees On Your Union-Free Philosophy;

  • Preventive Steps You Can Take Now To Reduce the Possibility of a Union Drive at Your Company.

Speaker Biography:  Christopher C. Antone is celebrating his 34th year with Jackson Lewis P.C. by being inducted into the HR Southwest Speaker Hall of Fame. He has been recognized as one of the nation's top 100 labor lawyers by the Labor Relations Institute.  Mr. Antone is a Principal in the Dallas office of Jackson Lewis. He has also been named a Texas Super Lawyer for the last six years. Recently, Legal 500 noted Mr. Antone as an “individual with distinction” in workplace and employment counseling, stating “Clients single out Christopher Antone, as ‘especially helpful with our issues. He is responsive and brings immediate resources to bear on our issues.’” Mr. Antone is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

In addition to a full labor agency litigation and labor arbitration caseload, Mr. Antone counsels human resources professionals in the development of state-of-the-art proactive policies, procedures and protocols designed to retain the best talent, exit poor performers, and create an environment that produces highly effective work teams.

Since completing law school, Mr. Antone has been exclusively engaged in the practice of labor and employment law on behalf of management. He has represented management before the National Labor Relations Board, state and federal agencies and courts, and in arbitration proceedings.

Mr. Antone is one of the select Jackson Lewis faculty members who has presented the most well-known public seminar on managing a unionized workforce, entitled Corrective Bargaining: Winning Back and Preserving Management’s Rights Under a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Mr. Antone is a contributing author of Winning NLRB Elections: Management’s Strategy and Preventive Programs, which is the leading work on maintaining union-free status. He has published articles on labor law subjects, and is a frequent speaker before professional, trade and business associations on labor relations topics.

Mr. Antone received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, where he achieved Dean’s List academic honors.
